WGNA Participates in 2011 Texas Trash Bash

The West Garland Neighborhood Association took part in the 2011 Texas Trash Bash on Saturday 4/2. A strategy meeting was held in early March at the home of David & Anita Morehead, and it was decided that we would focus on the creek area just south of Buckingham Rd by Jupiter Rd. Dave & Anita also picked up the supplies ahead of the actual event, which left more time for picking up trash. Many thanks to them, Ken Myers, Pres. Doris Lafayette, Carl West, Bob & Marilyn Clark, Dorothy Mc Allister, Lee Elms, Arley Terry, Lori Dodson, Emma, and all the kiddo’s who stopped what they were doing that Saturday to come out and contribute.

This was a city-wide event, and the trash was collected at the Granger Recreational Center where all the workers were thanked and fed a tasty lunch. We should also extend thanks to the City of Garland for all their help in making this possible.
