Local Election on Saturday May 1st 2021, Early Voting Starts Sooner                    4/21 K.Agee

 

The City of Garland will have an election on Saturday May 1st to elect the Mayor, several City Council and School District members.  Early voting starts  Monday 4/19 at 8 a.m.and ends Friday 4/23.  Mon-Sat hours are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Sun 1-6 p.m. Two additional days are also available:  Mon 4/26 and Tue 4/27, with hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

 

The closest early voting location for our District 6 area is the Richland College Garland Campus, located at 675 W. Walnut St.

 

We are all in the City of Garland’s District 6, and while the position of City Council Representative is up for election, Councilman Robert Vera is running unopposed (filing deadline was Feb 12th).

The West Garland Neighborhood Association (WGNA.info) has invited both Mayoral candidates (Scott LeMay and Roel Garcia) to introduce themselves at our 4/22/21 meeting.  At the time of this writing, the incumbent, Scott LeMay has agreed to attend, and we’re still waiting to hear from Mr. Garcia.
