Minutes of the Quarterly Meeting         

January 25, 2024

Iglesia Cristiana Bethel Church

The meeting was called to order at 7 pm.                                                                                                         

Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

There was an introduction of the officers.

Officers in attendance:

Linda Deskin – Vice President

Irene Ryan – Secretary

Ken Agee – Sergeant-at-Arms

Robert Vera - Treasurer

Minutes from the meeting in October were read and approved.

Treasurer’s report: $2,554.30 in the bank

There are no current updates on the construction at Hollabaugh, but we should have some news at the next meeting.

Our NPO, Officer Diaz, was in attendance. There have been six violent crimes in the area around Jupiter, Buckingham, and Forest. Other crimes around the West Walnut and Jupiter areas are mostly vehicle burglaries and thefts. There was also a murder in the lounge area at Walnut and Plano.  

The program, Safe at Home, is available and the contact for Garland Victim Advocate is 972-205-2067. A residential lockbox program is also available.

Amy Rosenthal, the director of cultural arts, gave us lots of information on ongoing activities surrounding the revitalized downtown area. The cultural district was recognized as Bankhead Highway DC-SF. There are several mural projects currently in progress. Voting for the March 5th primary can be done at the Atrium or other voting places around the city.

A motion was made to end the meeting, was seconded, and passed unanimously.
