Roberta “Bobby” Wood passes away                        7/14/11   Doris Lafayette & Ken Agee

A lot of people were saddened to hear about the passing away of Bobby Wood last Friday 7/8/11 after a fairly long battle with lung cancer.

Bobby was very involved in the community and served on the West Garland Neighborhood Association board. She was a truly good-hearted person who was especially good with kids (she had a long career as a school teacher), and sometimes used her ability to bring order to our WGNA meetings. She had lived in Garland for 32 years, and contributed quietly and consistently toward the betterment of the community.

All in all, she will be greatly missed.

Services for Bobby will be at 11:00 on Monday, July 18th at White Rock United Methodist. Bobby's final resting place will in the Abbey Mausoleum at Restland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to White Rock United Methodist Church, the Garland Re'Creation Outreach Center, American Cancer Society or the American Lung Foundation in her name.
