We had the 2nd quarter West Garland Neighborhood Association (WGNA) meeting at The ROC, located at 3375 Edgewood. We also have reservations for this location for the July 28^th meeting.

Councilwoman Barbara Chick was there (they normally have city meetings on 4th Tue's), and so was Lori Dodson of the Plan Commission, and David Greer of the Parks & Rec committee.  Richard McGough of the Housing Standard committee was also there, but then again he's sort of a regular...

There was some discussion about Code Compliance issues, so Councilwoman Chick pledged to have someone from Code attend our next quarterly meeting (5/13 update by K.A.: Code Compliance won’t be sending a representative per their new policy).  Cw Chick & David Greer gave updates on the park construction on the Hollis Hollabaugh City Park (north side of Walnut between Jupiter & Plano).  Basically they will be completing the walking path around the park first, then they'll prepare the fields and build a shelter next. 

We had two groups of new people attending, and one of them was complaining about over-crowding by two of the neighboring houses, plus the vehicle congestion.  Cw Chick said she'd get the information to the right people.

President Fong suggested that we each take a page of past WGNA attendee's phone numbers and call them a few days ahead of the next meeting.  This will surely help attendance, because there was a common theme of people not remembering the meeting date. 

We also spent a little more time getting the new attendees up to speed (Yard-of-the-Month, quarterly meetings, call for new officers, etc).
